Gospel Truths

Four Gospel Truths

  1. God is Holy
“God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all” (1John 1:5) “Who will not fear you, O Lord, and bring glory to your name? For you alone are holy” (Rev. 15:4). God’s holiness is central to all that He is and does. In fact, the idea of holiness is so central to the biblical teaching about God that it is said of Him, “Holy is
His Name”. Holiness means that God is morally pure, free from every stain, wholly perfect and immaculate in every detail. Because God is Holy…
  2. Sin is Horrible
“Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; You cannot tolerate wrong” (Hab. 1:13). God loves everything that is pure and free from every stain, and hates everything which is contrary to this purity. Sin is missing the standard of God’s perfection. This not only concerns our actions, but also our very thoughts. Jesus tells us that even when we are angry with someone we have committed sin in the eyes of God (Matt. 5:22). Because we are sinners…
  3. Man is Helpless
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:10,11,23). The great problem is that man cannot save himself. When it comes to God’s standard of perfection we have all failed. Furthermore, the Bible says that we are “dead” to spiritual matters. This being the case, you cannot save yourself. It is because of man’s helplessness that…
  4. Christ is our Only Hope
“Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Col. 1:27). Thankfully, God has taken the initiative in the salvation of sinners like you and me. He has sent His Spirit to helpless sinners, enabling them to turn from their sins (repent) and trust in Christ. This is not done because of anything you do; it is because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Eph. 2:4,5)

What Must I Do…?

Do you want to get right with God – whatever the cost or consequences? If not, then you have not understood the importance of this matter.

If God has shown you your need, and you do want to be saved, then turn to Christ. Tell Him that you are a guilty, lost and helpless sinner, and with all your heart ask Christ to save you. Look to the Lord Jesus Christ alone who gave himself for sinners upon the cross. Christ is your only hope!

“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved” (Acts 16:31)
